Isabel Duarte, BA, MA

Born and raised in Guatemala now based in London, Isabel has a background in education, graphic design and 10+ years of experience in visual communication and advertising.

Triggered by the nonsense of working for a system based on consumerism and injustice, and a deep desire to protect and give back to life on Earth, she dared to go against the flow and joined like-minded people at Schumacher College on the Regenerative Economics MA.

And what an empowering and transformative ride that was!

Studying helped her affirm truths she knew deep inside - that an economic system based on domination and extraction is the cause of the planetary crisis. But more importantly, that people are creating change and hope all over the world and that there are options to take part and make those movements stronger.

That is why she joined Slowmentum - to be part and sum forces with the people creating alternatives; to put her energy, skills and creativity in service of brave and innovative ideas for a new economy that is caring for all, so that life and community can thrive over greed and disconnection.
